Prepare a reliable remote measurement package with labeled photos, overall dimensions, openings, levels, fixtures, utilities, and check dimensions.
Remote drafting depends on a complete, checkable record
Remote work can be effective when photographs, dimensions, sketches, surveys, and existing plans describe the same conditions without contradiction. A few isolated measurements are rarely enough for an addition or as-built plan.
Measurement package checklist
- Overall exterior dimensions and wall thickness where known
- Room dimensions and ceiling heights
- Door and window widths, heights, and locations
- Stair geometry and level changes
- Plumbing fixtures, equipment, and utility locations
- Wide photographs plus detail photographs labeled to the sketch
Measure important dimensions in more than one direction so totals can be checked. If the information does not reconcile, Timpson may request clarification, additional measurements, or local field verification before relying on it.
